[12-11-07 – Satellite Today] TeleCommunications Systems Inc. has been issued patents in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Denmark for a wireless transmitter, TCS announced Dec. 11.
The patent describes a method that enables data to be transmitted to a wireless device such that only new information from previous similar messages is sent to the device. The invention would apply to updated repeat messages such as weather, sports, and stock information. Unnecessary data are not sent to the device, saving bandwidth for the operator and data usage fees for the user.
