Firefly Aerospace has named former Blue Origin executive Bretton Alexander as chief revenue officer (CRO) to lead business development planning to drive revenue growth. Alexander will oversee all sales and customer relationships across the company’s launch, lunar, and on-orbit services.

Alexander was with Blue Origin for nearly 12 years and served as both vice president of government sales and civil sales. He also served in leadership roles at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the Commercial Spaceflight Federation, and senior advisor roles on the NASA Advisory Council and the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Commercial Space Transportation Advisory Committee.

“Brett’s global reputation, network, and experience in the space transportation market will be invaluable as we continue to ramp up production of Firefly’s launch, lunar, and on-orbit vehicles and manifest a growing number of government and commercial missions,” commented Bill Weber, CEO of Firefly Aerospace.

Firefly has made a number of changes to its executive slate in the past year, as Weber joined as CEO in September 2022, and then named former GE exec Dan Fermon as COO in November 2022. The company also recently acquired rideshare provider Spaceflight for its lineup of orbital transfer vehicles (OTVs).
