Eutelsat Signs South African Capacity Deal With Vox

Eutelsat has signed a new capacity deal in South Africa. The company announced June 22 that it had reached a multi-year deal with Vox, an end-to-end integrated infrastructure and telecoms company to enable high-speed connectivity throughout South Africa. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Vox will use Eutelsat KONNECT, Eutelsat’s new-generation High Throughput Satellite (HTS), and Eutelsat’s service to further grow its satellite customer base in South Africa.

We are confident that Eutelsat’s unparalleled in-orbit assets, together with its unrivalled customer support will be a great benefit to a growing number of customers,” Jacques Visser, head of wireless at Vox said in a statement.

Eutelsat’s KONNECT satellite, which covers Africa and Europe, entered service in November 2020. The operator has signed a number of capacity contracts for the satellite in Africa, including a recent deal with Facebook.
