The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has chosen Blue Sky Network for a multi-year contract for Iridium satellite-based communications services. According to the contract, Blue Sky Network will supply new military-grade Iridium 9575 Extreme satellite phones for IMF personnel traveling in high-risk regions around the world.

IMF is an organization that comprises 189 countries, working collaboratively to secure global financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty. The organization often sends out staff teams to various nations to discuss economic policies with government officials and more.
“As we have seen with the recent Caribbean hurricanes, maintaining a reliable means of communication during natural disasters and emergency situations is crucial to effective management of an organization’s operations,” said Blue Sky Network President Gregoire Demory.

Demory noted that the company’s satellite communications solutions offer global coverage to provide reliable means of communication even when land-based cellular networks are unavailable.
