[Via Satellite 04-05-2016] Cobham Satcom and Boeing have signed a Technical Service Agreement (TSA) for the certification of the Aviator 600S and 700S systems on the Boeing 777 and 737 airplanes. The agreement is Cobham Satcom’s first contract with an airplane manufacturer for the Aviator S series, which supports Inmarsat’s new generation SwiftBroadband (SBB) Safety service.

The TSA allows Cobham and Boeing to work together on the design of the 600S and 700S solutions onto the Boeing Next-Generation 737, the 737 Max, the Boeing 777-300ER and 777X.

Cobham Satcom’s Aviator S products offer satcom equipment to airlines to address the growing demand for continuous, non-encrypted secure data exchange between their ground operations and aircraft. The Aviator S series of products supports secure Internet Protocol (IP) and Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) data services and multiple voice channels, among others.
