[Via Satellite 03-07-2014] Intrasky has purchased Ka-band capacity on the Eutelsat 8 West C satellite operated by Eutelsat Communications and Newtec’s latest satellite technology to enhance Internet connectivity services in the Levant area of the Middle East. Intrasky will occupy a 72 MHz transponder on the satellite with a 250Mbps link for a leading ISP in the region that is seeking to supplement stretched download capacity on fiber and ensure continuity of service.

Intrasky has chosen the Newtec MDM6000 satellite modem with high bandwidth optimization and the ability to manage multiple services including data, video and Internet access.

“With this very competitive solution we are demonstrating how we constantly seek to provide our clients with the latest technology using very efficient high throughput satellite capacity,” said Naim Aoun, general manager of Intrasky. “Based on Intrasky’s long experience and this technological combination we have once again taken up the challenge to implement innovative satellite services and are forging the way into the region’s future satellite business.”
