[Via Satellite 02-24-2014] ViaSat is adopting the Samsung KNOX secure platform for Android. To provide this service, ViaSat will integrate its defense-grade cyber and information security technologies into Samsung KNOX-enabled devices. Samsung KNOX is an end-to-end secure mobile platform designed to provide data and privacy protection for enterprises and consumers.

“This alliance will raise the bar for high-grade security in commercial devices,” said Injong Rhee, senior VP of KNOX Business, IT and mobile communications division at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung and ViaSat will be able to provide users with a portfolio of secure Samsung KNOX-enabled mobile devices allowing them to adopt a single device for work and personal use with the ability to separate enterprise and personal environments.”

ViaSat has integrated its defense-grade cyber and information security technologies into all Samsung mobile devices to provide a full enterprise service. It is designed to provide mobile services for commercial and government or military customers who need to use their device publicly, but also need to access their own secure networks. This ViaSat system, which can enable commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) devices to communicate securely, has already been adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command to safeguard stored sensitive data and protect against malware attacks.
