iDirect Acquires Parallel

[Satellite TODAY 01-05-10] iDirect has acquired Parallel Ltd., the U.K.-based developer of the SatManage network management software suite, iDirect announced Jan. 4.
    iDirect purchased all of Parallel’s equity shares, as well as full ownership of SatManage, through a cash transaction for an undisclosed amount. Parallel CTO Guy Adams, along with the company’s entire development team, will join iDirect’s engineering group.
    Following the integration of the development teams, SatManage will be marketed as an extended software solution to manage iDirect networks. iDirect will then launch an effort to merge the two products to create a single management environment.
    “Through this acquisition, iDirect immediately gains a powerful technology that makes our intelligent platform even stronger and equips our partners with the critical tools they need to meet intensifying business demands. This is an important milestone in advancing our mission to help our partners deliver profitable, differentiated services,” iDirect CEO Mary Cotton said in a statement.
