[Via Satellite 04-15-2014] Azercosmos, an Azerbaijani satellite operator, has signed an agreement with Iveriasat, a Georgian Direct-to-Home (DTH) operator, for a long-term capacity lease and DTH platform launch on its Azerspace 1 satellite. Once uplinked to the satellite, the DTH platform will broadcast to Georgia, as well as Europe and the Middle East. The platform will comprise more than 60 channels.

Launched in 2013, Azerspace 1 has an operational lifespan of more than 15 years, and functions through the use of 24 transponders in C-band and 12 transponders in Ku-band capacity.
