[Via Satellite 10-24-2016] Panasonic Avionics has entered two new contracts for In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) solutions, one with French airline Air Tahiti Nui and the other with China Eastern Airlines.

Air Tahiti Nui is equipping four of its Boeing 787 planes with inflight Wi-Fi service as well as Panasonic’s eX3 IFE system. The platform offers passengers a high-definition screen together with broadband through eXConnect, which uses Panasonic’s Ku-band satellite network.

China Eastern Airlines has also furthered its relationship with Panasonic, signing its third partnership agreement with the company. This latest award is to outfit China Eastern Airlines’ entire wide body fleet with Panasonic’s high-speed communications service. China Eastern Airlines, in partnership with China Telecom Satellite, was the first Chinese carrier to offer Panasonic’s global Wi-Fi service on domestic flights, and has already begun offering broadband communications on international routes.
