[Via Satellite 09-13-13] Garuda Indonesia has taken delivery of its first two Boeing 777-300ER aircraft fitted with Panasonic Avionics Corporation’s Global Communications Services. Under the deal, Garuda will be taking a total of 10 777-300ERs fitted with Panasonic’s Global Communication Services.

In cooperation with PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Garuda is said to be the first airline in Indonesia to offer the complete range of in-flight communication services including eXConnect, eXPhone, and eXTV.

“Both companies share the same vision about delivering an amazing passenger experience, and with our Global Communications Service, Garuda Indonesia will be able to create a deeply immersive, content-rich environment with applications and services such as live Internet access, social networking, and much more,” said Paul Margis, CEO for Panasonic Avionics Corporation.

Services are currently being offered on routes from Jakarta/Denpasar to Narita and Jakarta/Denpasar to Jeddah. All of Garuda’s 777-300ERs will be delivered by 2015.
