Discovery Networks Germany Taps MX1 for HD Channels

[Via Satellite 12-15-2016] MX1, a subsidiary of SES, has signed a multi-year agreement with Discovery Networks Germany, Eurosport’s parent company, to handle technical services and satellite transmission of the Eurosport 1HD channel on HD+, SES’ German High Definition (HD) platform.
MX1’s services include encoding, uplink and delivery in HD via an SES Astra satellite at 19.2 degrees east. The Eurosport 1HD channel was added to the HD+ package on Dec. 1, increasing its encrypted HDTV offering to 23 channels, in addition to 35 free-to-air HD channels.
