      • Conax has signed an important new contract to supply Conditional Access (CA) to Focus Sat, a DTH operator in Romania. The deal sees Conax deliver its new Conax CAS7 system to the Romanian operator for launch of new channels in March. Focus Sat and Eastern Space Systems, a Romanian satellite operator, will start transmission of around 20 new digital channels via Telenor’s satellite at 1 degreesW in December this year.
      • Boeing [BA] and Alcatel [ALA] have formed what the two companies called a “teaming partnership” to provide satellite communications subsystems for Boeing Satellite Systems. Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
      • Connexion By Boeing, a business unit of Boeing [BA], and Singapore-based integrated info-communications provider StarHub said the two companies have reached a definitive associate service provider agreement that adds Connexion By Boeing high-speed satellite Internet service to StarHub’s wireless broadband services portfolio. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
      • Iridium Satellite LLC and Marlink today said Eastern Mediterranean Maritime Ltd. is fitting its fleet with Iridium-based ship security alert systems. Financial terms of the service deployment were not disclosed.
