Goonhilly Earth Station has acquired two U.S. based Comsat teleports, based in Southbury, Connecticut, and Santa Paula, California. The U.K.-based company announced the completed deal on Wednesday and said it will enhance service on both sides of the Atlantic.

This follows after Satcom Direct announced in March that it would divest the teleports to Goonhilly. The deal also includes the sites’ expert teams. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Goonhilly now owns three teleports, the two U.S.-based teleports, and a site in Cornwall, U.K. The company offers a private lunar and deep space communications service that supports missions for ESA, NASA, ISRO, and Ispace.

“We are delighted with this acquisition, which allows us to enhance our service offerings to all of our ground station clients,” commented Goonhilly CEO Ian Jones. “It’s a really exciting collaboration which brings together yet another group of experts who share our vision for further extending exceptional satellite communications with deep space and lunar capabilities. With their extensive experience of handling complex and highly customized network requirements, we are confident that this acquisition will provide real added value for our existing and future customers.”
