SES has selected Lyntris as the payload integrator for its work for the U.S. Space Force’s Protected Tactical Satellite-Global (PTS-G) program.

Space Systems Command contracted both SES and Viasat in May to build the first two operational satellites of the PTS-G system to provide anti-jam satellite communications.

Under the subcontract announced Tuesday, Lyntris said it will provide the radio frequency (RF) payload architecture, precision pointing systems, and antenna technologies. Lyntris will integrate and test the full PTS-G Payload at its integration facility in Longmont, Colorado.

Initial operational capability for the program is targeted for fiscal year 2029.

David Broadbent, president and CEO of SES Space & Defense commented that the Lyntris resilient payload architecture design along with its integrated antenna and motion systems “are central to our ability to compete for this role.”

Lyntris, formed earlier this year when Vitesse Systems and Accelint merged, has deep experience in RF and microwave antenna systems for commercial operators and government satellite missions; Vitesse Systems has supported Intelsat, the Space Development Agency (SDA), and others.

“PTS-G demands performance with zero margin for error in GEO, and that’s exactly where our team excels,” said Richie Dart, general manager of C5ISR at Lyntris. “This award reflects years of engineering discipline behind every multiband and resilient RF system we’ve fielded, and we’re ready to deliver that same rigor for the Space Force.”

According to SSC, the first two satellites in PTS-G will be known as Swarm 1 and operate in Geosynchronous Orbit (GSO) with military Ka-band and X-band payloads, also utilizing the Protected Tactical Waveform (PTW).
