[Satellite Today 09-26-08] Three Glonass satellites were launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome by a Proton rocket, International Launch Services (ILS) announced Sept. 25
Glonass is a dual–purpose global navigation system designed to serve the Russian Ministry of Defense and civil users.
The launch comes less than a week after a Proton rocket placed the Nimiq 4 satellite into orbit for Telesat.
