Hughes Network Systems Launches New Managed Cybersecurity Service

Hughes Network Systems is rolling out new managed cybersecurity services geared toward small to mid-sized businesses. The company said these offerings give smaller companies of under 1,000 employees similar resources to large enterprises. The offering includes managed detection and response (MDR) and security operations centers (SOC) as a service. 

“Small and medium-sized enterprises are at increasing risk of cyberattacks like phishing, malware and ransomware – just as large enterprises are – but they typically don’t have the in-house expertise to mitigate these threats,” said Dan Rasmussen, senior vice president of Hughes Enterprise Division. “Our managed security services put enterprise-grade protection into the hands of smaller businesses.”

Hughes said it works to plug the gaps traditional cybersecurity vendors do not, across every transport type from satellite, cellular, to microwave. The SOC as a service offering has Hughes SOC analysts monitoring customer networks at all times, and the MDR provides real-time incident response.
