Nicole Robinson Joins Comtech’s Executive Team as Chief Strategy Officer

Space industry veteran Nicole Robinson is joining Comtech’s executive team as chief strategy officer, the company announced Tuesday. Robinson joins Comtech from Ursa Space Systems where she served as president. She was previously senior vice president of Global Government for SES. 

In this role, she will work with Comtech’s strategic council on space business, oversee new technology development, and lead global growth initiatives and other priorities related to geospatial imagery and data and space communication. 

Nicole is a long-time space industry leader and has held a number of industry leadership roles including president of the Society of Satellite Professionals International, chair of the Hosted Payload Alliance and held positions at Washington Space Business Roundtable. She was also included in Via Satellite’s recent Celebrating Women in Satellite feature.

Comtech has gone through a number of changes to leadership and strategy in recent years, including longtime CEO Fred Kornberg’s retirement, new members to its board of directors, and two new satellite business lines. Ken Peterman took the helm as president and CEO in August of last year. 

“Nicole brings unparalleled space industry expertise that will help Comtech implement overarching space strategies; identify and oversee new end-to-end technology developments; and further enhance our technology leadership across global markets,” Peterman commented.

Separately, Comtech announced this week the company secured multiple orders for “significant quantities” of its CDM-780 high-speed software defined modems from satellite operators and the U.S. Department of Defense.
