Holly Johnson will lead manufacturer MDA’s Robotics and Space Operations (RSO) division on a permanent basis after taking on the role in an acting capacity earlier this year. MDA promoted Johnson to Vice President of the division and confirmed she will report directly to MDA CEO Mike Greenley.

A professional engineer and recipient of Canada’s Northern Lights Aero Foundation Rising Star Award, Johnson has been with MDA since 2008. She spent a decade in the company’s engineering and business development departments  and four years in corporate operations.

Greenley said Johnson will lead MDA’s RSO business through a period of tremendous growth and focus on new commercial market opportunities and delivering Canadarm3 –  Canada’s contribution to the US-led Gateway lunar outpost.

“Holly has quickly established herself as a customer-centric business leader and skilled operational executive, and I am incredibly proud that we are able to tap into MDA’s deep talent pool to fill this critical senior executive position,” said Greenley. “With a strategic vision for MDA to capitalize on the growing commercial market for RSO products and services and the operational mindset to deliver Canadarm3 and multiple other programs, Holly is the right leader to take us forward.”
