Airbus Defence and Space Begins Newtec-Enabled Terralink Service

[Via Satellite 08-21-2014] Airbus Defence and Space is growing its Terralink satellite connectivity service for enterprise users. The expanded service employs the Newtec Dialog platform, which was introduced earlier this year. Airbus is the first user for the Newtec platform.

The enterprise-targeted solution uses new coding as well as upgrades for compatibility and processing to send more data over satellite. Customized Terralink service plans range from 10 kbps to 45 Mbps outbound and from 10 kbps to 8 Mbps inbound, with unlimited data volume allowance.

Airbus plans to introduce more packages in the near future. Terralink is provided through Ku-band in Europe and the Middle East, and through C-band in Africa and the Asia Pacific.
