This week we’re bringing you coverage from CyberSat, where the NRO announced a new  space cyber program that will serve as the central hub for space cyber activities across the agency.

“We’re accelerating the integration of cybersecurity capabilities into our space systems. Our team is working directly with program offices to bake cybersecurity and design processes from day one, not as an afterthought,” Johnathon Martin, the acting deputy director of the NRO’s Office of the Chief Architect said during CyberSat on Monday.

Also, DHS and Aerospace Corp. put out a call for satellite operators to volunteer to test out new tools they’re building to detect cyber attacks like SpaceCOP — a prototype intrusion detection system.

And, Pentagon’s acting CIO Katie Arrington talked Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) as it enters into the enforcement phase and called for industry to do more on cybersecurity.
