      Thales Alenia Space announces new ceo

      Thales Alenia Space has appointed Jean-Loïc Galle as its new president and CEO. Galle also becomes a senior vice president of the Thales group. Galle succeeds Reynald Seznec, who has been named senior vice president for Zone B in the Thales group.

      Globalstar has appointed New sales and marketing exec

      Globalstar has appointed Frank J. Bell II as its new president of global sales and marketing. Bell will be responsible for Globalstar’s sales and marketing operations, worldwide customer care, international gateway operator (IGO) partners and for all aspects of the company’s worldwide revenue growth.

      Inmarsat Names Franci Global Xpress Vice President to Lead GX Program

      Inmarsat has appointed Michele Franci as its Global Xpress vice president of commercial business.

      In his new position, Franci will be responsible for the execution of Inmarsat’s GX program, bringing it to its commercial launch. This includes operational practices, regulatory and market access program and leading the establishment of distribution agreements across all sectors. He also will take the lead on program management aspects of the project, including oversight of the master schedule for the space segment, ground segment, distribution development and regulatory aspects.

      Franci worked at SES from 2006 to 2012, most recently as senior vice president for planning and procurement. He also served as vice president of business development at Arianespace.

      Intelsat Hires Former Inmarsat Exec as Mobility Product Director

      Intelsat has hired James Collett as its director of mobility services product management.

      Collett will be responsible for advancing Intelsat’s mobility product line and furthering the company’s role in providing managed services and space-only solutions to the aeronautical, maritime and government sectors.

      Collett previously served as senior director of maritime business for Inmarsat, where he led Inmarsat’s global maritime wholesale efforts, focused on service development and collaboration with strategic partners.

      SSPI Elects Gager to Regional Board of Directors

      The Society of Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) has elected MorganFranklin director of business development for C4 Programs Daniel Gager to the board of directors for SSPI’s mid-Atlantic chapter, the non-profit member-benefit organization announced. Gager joined MorganFranklin in June and has been an active member of SSPI since December 2011.
