Nagravision Forms Technology Partnership with Intel
Nagravision, a Kudelski Group company, signed a technology licensing agreement with Intel to develop compatibility between Nagravision’s NOCS technology and Intel’s CE media processors, allowing Intel’s CE industrial customers to design hybrid and IPTV set-top boxes and secure digital video home products for service operators.
The operators then can use Nagra Media Access technology to secure content on their pay-TV networks.
The collaboration is intended to open potential markets for Intel’s CE customers while allowing Nagravision’s service operator customers to select products incorporating Intel’s line of media processors.
Paradise Datacom unveils FastLink Feature for Modem Line
Paradise Datacom has released FastLink, a low-latency low density parity check (LDPC) feature available in its entire line of satellite modem products.
FastLink, which combines implementations of 8QAM and low latency LDPC, is available as a combined hardware add-on and software-activated feature option. Paradise Datacom is developing an adaptive coding and modulation option for the product.
Winegard Releases Compact Vehicle Satellite TV Antenna
Winegard Co. unveiled a compact roof-mounted RV satellite television antenna — the RoadTrip Minimax. The product, available for $899, is a combination of the Winegard RoadTrip antenna and the Carryout automatic portable antenna.
RoadTrip Minimax’s automatic one-button on/off stationary antenna is equipped with DVB technology for automatic satellite acquisition. The antenna can view one satellite at a time and features automatic toggling to switch between satellites while parked. The antenna supports two receivers as long as the programs are located on the same satellite.
