[Satellite TODAY 10-10-12] NetComm Wireless has signed its first supply agreement with wireless technology distributer Westbase Technology for 3G and 4G wireless broadband devices and machine-to-machine (M2M) products to telecommunications carriers in the United Kingdom and Europe, NetComm announced Oct. 9.

Following the recent decision of the U.K. communications industry regulator and competition authority Ofcom to approve the Everything Everywhere application to use its existing 1800 MHz spectrum for 4G services, the NetComm Wireless 4G WiFi Router (4G100W) aims to be one of the first 4G devices to enter the UK market.
According to the agreement, Westbase will provide UK vertical markets with a variety of NetComm’s M2M products, aiming to optimize wireless communications by delivering applications in areas including energy, transport, banking and retail, with distant monitoring, control and maintenance abilities.
"We are pleased to have entered into a partnership that furthers our strategic global growth initiatives as the UK gains access to 4G LTE broadband,” NetComm Chief Technology Officer Brett Stevens said in a statement. “Our timely agreement with Westbase Technology enables immediate access to the superior capabilities of 4G while also providing industrial and commercial entities across the UK and Europe with the very latest M2M technology."
