[Satellite TODAY 08-09-12] Voice, video and data distribution networks provider Wegener Corp. has signed new equipment orders with media network Microspace and an unnamed international customer managing a governmental media network, the company announced Aug. 8.

Wedener received an order from Microspace for 100 Unity 552 enterprise media receivers to support an expansion of a global digital signage network. Microspace provides professional digital signage network management services for a global retailer. Microspace also will use Wegener’s Compel network control unit to expand the network’s footprint and support close to 500 of its stores around the world. The order will ship during Wegener’s fourth fiscal quarter of 2012.
Wegener also received an order for more than 200 of its iPump 562 media servers and a non-redundant Compel 2 network control system from an international customer managing a governmental media network. Wegener said the equipment that was ordered is capable of supporting live and file-based video applications, such as digital signage and regionalized video insertions.
