By Jeffrey Hill | October 21, 2011
[Satellite TODAY 10-21-11] Libyan oil and gas communications provider Hermes Datacomms resumed full operational status in Libya after violence due to the country’s recent political unrest subsided, the company announced Oct. 20.
Hermes was founded in 2005 in the Libyan capital to supply VSAT communication solutions to both onshore and offshore customers located in city and remote locations.
“During the unrest, we continued to support our clients throughout the disturbances from our support teams out of the United Kingdom and Tripoli. Recently, we have been assisting our current and new customers to rebuild their communication systems. Our staffs have started to return to Tripoli with the task of inspecting our infrastructure and meeting with the new government and ministers. The majority of many oil and gas company offices were interfered with during the past few months and equipment and links will have to be reconnected,” Hermes Spokesman Shaun Young said in a statement.
