[Satellite TODAY 07-21-11] German VSAT network solutions provider Romantis has entered into a distribution agreement with satellite systems integrator iSat to extend its global product reach in Europe, Middle East and Africa, Romantis announced July 20.

The contract will see iSat distribute innovative Romantis UHP-1000/8000 satellite routers supporting SCPC, TDM/SCPC, TDM/TDMA or TDMA full-mesh.
“Customer reaction to our market research has shown enormous interest in the area of growth between 10 to 100 VSATs,” iSat CEO David Harper said in a statement. “The agreement gives iSat an opportunity to integrate this unit with our existing RF expertise in hubs, fly-aways and SNG style products. We particularly like the LDPC error correction in the TDMA return channel that Romantis offers, which gives customers enormous bandwidth efficiency.”
