By Jeffrey Hill | May 5, 2011

[Satellite TODAY 05-05-11] NewSat has signed $1.7 million in oil, gas and military sector contracts to provide satellite communication services within Australia and internationally.
The recent contract wins include: a deal with Rodinia Oil to provide satellite communication services for onshore petroleum and natural gas exploration within Australia; a contract upgrade with Esso Highlands PNG to provide satellite communication services to an LNG pipeline; and a contract extension with the Australian Defense Force to provide welfare satellite communication services in the Middle East.
“Resource industries such as oil and gas continue to be a high value market for NewSat, and with demand on the rise, favorably places NewSat to continue its consistent new contract wins and record growth. The global demand for satellite communication services positions us well for our first geostationary communications satellite, Jabiru-1, which will deliver greater satellite communications to these markets,” Newsat CEO Adrian Ballintine said in a statement.
