Globecomm Deploys ASC Antennas to Support FAST Disaster Recovery Soution

[Satellite TODAY 04-05-11] Globecomm Systems has contracted ASC Signal Corp. to provide antennas as a critical component of Globecomm’s Forward-Deployed Asset Support Terminal (FAST) system for disaster recovery communications, ASC announced April 4.
    The 4-meter ASC antennas will help support tens of megabits of uplink connectivity in C- and Ku-band. This capability aims to allow FAST users to create multi-purpose hubs for local communications, including mobile services that are immediately available after arrival at a disaster recovery site.
    "The strength and unique capabilities of our antennas, especially their rugged structure and flexibility in deployment, make us a strong complement to disaster recovery systems like Globecomm’s FAST. In places that have experienced massive destruction, our satellite Earth stations can help ensure voice, data and video communications during the critical recovery process," ASC President and CEO Keith Buckley said in a statement.
