By Jeffrey Hill | March 18, 2011

[Satellite TODAY 03-18-11] Arqiva is expanding its U.S.-based government and domestic operations in Washington, D.C. by developing and refining its teleports for secure transmissions, the company announced March 15.
Arqiva also completed an upgrade of its secure terrestrial fiber network, which connects all of its international teleports and points of presence. Arqiva said the upgrades would help the company continue its work as a prime subcontractor to U.S. government agency integrators and service providers.
Separately, William Witten has been named vice-president of U.S. government sales. Witten will manage the company’s initiative to increase its government presence and expand relationships in the maritime and oil and gas industries. He previously served as vice president of government sales at Quintech and Norsat.
