RigNet Wins VSAT Contract from SandRidge Energy

[Satellite TODAY 11-02-10] RigNet, an independent provider of remote communications solutions and collaborative applications to the global oil and gas industry, has signed a contract with SandRidge Energy to provide fully-managed remote communications services to the company’s fleet of more than 20 land drilling rigs operating in the continental United States, RigNet announced Nov. 1.
    RigNet’s connectivity services are delivered over broadband VSAT and include IP-based voice, fax and enterprise network and broadband Internet access.
    “RigNet continues to be a valued partner in SandRidge’s delivery of data and voice communications technology to enhance efficiency, safety, and operational effectiveness wherever operations require.   This contract extension facilitates SandRidge Energy’s ability to rapidly deploy resources that focus on key oil and natural gas exploration and production activities,” SandRidge Infrastructure Manager Todd Coates said in a statement.
    Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
