Globecomm Subsidiary Wins IT Support Contract with U.S. Foreign Aid Agency

[Satellite TODAY 07-22-10]  Globecomm Systems subsidiary Cachendo, has been awarded a one-year, $9 million IT support services agreement from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the company announced July 20.
    The agreement includes options that would bring the total contract value up to $44.2 million over 5 years, if fully exercised.
    Cachendo will act as a subcontractor to Catapult Technology to provide IT support services relating to Web site domains plus deployable IT support for disaster assistance response teams. This includes program management, operations and maintenance, systems development, communications and field operations support, IT equipment procurement, maintenance, storage, distribution, and network connectivity.
   USAID administers the U.S. foreign assistance program, which provides economic and humanitarian assistance in more than 80 countries worldwide.
