ST Teleport, Manovega Partner to Develop Satellite, Cellular Bonding Service

By Staff Writer | June 21, 2010

[Satellite TODAY 06-21-10] Manovega and ST Teleport have entered into an agreement to research and develop the technical and commercial business case for delivering 3G bonded satellite and cellular solutions to the maritime industry, the companies announced June 18.
Bonding technology differs from stand-alone terrestrial as it includes bandwidth aggregation, seamless mobility, and transparent failover. Manovega’s channel bonding technologies will be combined with ST Teleport’s satellite offerings to develop and launch the service by the end of 2010.
“Our technology is relevant across a range of industry verticals, but Maritime is particularly exciting due to its critical need for highly reliable communications systems. With the increasing demand in bandwidth as well as a high service level expectation from customers, bonding technology will be able to mitigate these requirements,” Manovega Founder and CEO Raj Krishna said in a statement.
