ST Teleport Selects iDirect Evolution VSAT Platform to Enhance Maritime Service

[Satellite TODAY 06-18-10] Asian maritime market communications provider ST Teleport has purchased satellite hubs and Evolution X5 remotes from iDirect to segment its bandwidth and prioritize allocation across multiple maritime customers, ST Teleport announced June 17.
     The company said it selected iDirect 5IF hubs and the Evolution platform to leverage the efficiency of next-generation hybrid satellite-fiber networks.
    iDirect also will supply ST Teleport with Automatic Beam Switching (ABS) feature to enable seamless global coverage and eliminate the need for an onboard technician to manually handle connectivity transitions between satellite beams.
    "We selected iDirect as our partner predominantly for its proven deployments in various sectors, as well as its worldwide support and dedication to continuous improvement," ST Teleport Sales and Marketing Director for ST Teleport Darren Loi said in a statement.
