SeaMobile Europe Wins Connectivity Services Contract for Ocean Race

[Satellite TODAY 04-19-10] SeaMobile Europe has been chosen to provide audio and video satellite communications for the AG2R Transat maritime race, the company announced April 16.
    SeaMobile Europe will provide voice service and SMS texting to about 20 crews through Iridium handsets. The company also is providing data services through GeolinkConnect, SeaMobile Europe’s software application.
    The Ocean Alchemist, which will serve as the event’s audio-visual production vessel, has been equipped with two Inmarsat FleetBroadband 500 satellite antennas to deliver connection speeds up to 492kpbs.
    Media ClipWay has been chosen by the event coordinators to install the antennas and uplink live and pre-recorded race videos.
