Telespazio Wins Government Property Management Network Contract in Paraguay

[Satellite TODAY 12-11-09] Paraguay’s Ministry of the Economy has contracted Telespazio Argentina to develop and implement a cadastral registry information satellite network as well as supply informatics devices for the system, Telespazio announced Dec. 10.
    The total contract value is $3 million, which is being financed by a loan from the Inter-American Development Bank to the Republic of Paraguay. The contract calls for Telespazio to complete the project within a year of the contract award.    
    The Paraguayan National Cadastre Service will use the system for state and municipal property administration based upon a geographic information system, which will will automate communication between offices. This system aims to promote direct access to all information related to registry and cadastre for the interested government entities, owners and the private sector and reduce the duration and security of cadastral registration activities.
