[Satellite TODAY 09-10-09] Kanal 75, a European distributor of ATG horse racing, purchased a Compel network control system from Wegener to enhance its network operations and capabilities, Wegener announced Sept. 9.
Kanal 75 is currently using Wegener’s network control and video receiver equipment to manage live video feeds over satellite to betting shops and video headends in 13 European countries. Kanal 75’s long-term plan to leverage their existing content creation capabilities, graphics and television studios, pan-European distribution network and network planning expertise to offer new services to clients outside of the horse racing industry.
“New technology, new marketing communication tools, extensive content development capabilities and a state of the art Pan European satellite and IP distribution network put us in a unique position to expand our current business and offer competitive services and support for projects spanning multiple countries and or languages,” said Kanal 75 Technical Director Johan Eriksson, in a statement.
Kanal 75 placed the order and completed the field installation of Compel during Wegener’s fiscal 2009 fourth quarter.
