Spacenet Expands Presence in U.S. Transportable Communications Market

[Satellite Today 05-06-09] Spacenet Inc. has deployed its Connexstar satellite communications services as part of an incident response vehicle for Erie Insurance, Spacenet announced May 5.
    The services utilize Connexstar for transportable satellite services to support voice over IP and high-speed data.
    By using a specialized first response vehicle with custom integration of satellite services, Erie Insurance can bring their mobile claims center anywhere their customers require, Spacenet said.
    The company said it has been expanding its presence in the transportable communications market in support of emergency networks including the Missouri Department of Transportation and the Louisiana Department of Public Safety.
