Blue Oceans Selects Iridium Monitoring Solution for Explosives Management

[Satellite Today 03-27-09] Blue Oceans Satellite Systems has selected a satellite-based Explosive Magazine Monitoring Solution from Iridium, which will be used for storing explosives, Iridium announced March 26.
    The solution, based on the system requirements of the Canadian government, uses the Iridium satellite network to offer certified two-way access control to remote explosive magazines.
     Employing the Iridium services allows Blue Ocean’s customers to implement on-demand remote queries of systems and immediate over-the-air system updates such as the addition or removal of access entry codes. It also allows for the remote diagnosis of problems, which virtually eliminates the need to dispatch service personnel.
