Spacenet Helps NASCAR Team

[Satellite Today 02-10-09] Spacenet has announced details of a collaboration with a leading NASCAR racing team. Spacenet said, Feb. 9. that its Connexstar satellite communications services have been deployed to support command center trailers for Michael Waltrip Racing, a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series racing organization.
The system was deployed by Spacenet channel partner, Orbital Enterprises, a provider of fixed and mobile satellite communications systems.
    Michael Waltrip Racing is using Spacenet’s Connexstar Performance series for transportable satellite services to support high-speed data in the trailers, including critical data transport between the command center and its engineering teams in Charlotte, North Carolina. Orbital Enterprises designed the system for the Command Center Trailers using a transportable auto-acquire antenna.
