Intelsat Names KT Corp. Asia-Pacific Global Maritime Service Distribution Partner

[Satellite Today 01-20-09] Intelsat selected KT Corp., a communications service provider for Korea and the Asia-Pacific region, to be a distribution partner for Intelsat’s network broadband global maritime service, Intelsat announced Jan. 19.
KT’s maritime customers will receive Intelsat’s broadband service and automatic beam switching technology for a flat monthly fee.
Intelsat’s network broadband global maritime platform, part of its GlobalConnex portfolio of services, uses C-band capacity provided via IS-602 at 178 degrees East, IS-707 at 307 degrees East and IS-906 at 64 degrees East. The network has hubs in Fuchsstadt, Germany, and Riverside, Calif.
