Glowlink Wins FAA Contract to Provide Carrier Monitoring System

[Satellite Today 12-08-08] Glowlink has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for a satellite carrier monitoring system to manage FAA satellite communications traffic in Alaska and the continental United States, Glowlink announced Dec. 8.
    Glowlink will deliver, install, and integrate the sytem with the FAA’s existing satellite network management infrastructure and provide training.
    Glowlink uses its Model 1000’s signal-under-carrier technology, which can detect a wide range of carrier-under-carrier interferences. The system also is equipped with Glowlink’s TOP technology to monitor the health of satellite transponders leased by the FAA as well as a suite of signal analysis tools to assist in managing the communications traffic environment.
    Glowlink did not divulge the value of the contract.
