Hellas SAT Signs Gateway Deal

[Satellite Today 11-28-08] Greek satellite operator, Hellas SAT has signed a new capacity deal with Gateway Communications, Hellas announced Nov. 27.
     The deal marks the first time the two companies have worked together. Hellas SAT which will provide an additional 36 Meg of capacity over southern Africa for Gateway. Hellas SAT, the owner and operator of the Hellas-Sat 2 satellite, located at 39 degrees East, will provide Gateway with Ku-band capacity.
    Peter Gbedemah, CEO, Gateway Communications, commented, “The additional capacity from Hellas-Sat 2 will serve our growing base of business service customers in southern Africa, reaching from the Africa’s southernmost tip up to north of Zambia. While we are seeing growth across the continent, we are pleased to start working with Hellas SAT in a key geography, to ensure our footprint follows our customers.”
