[Satellite Today 10-21-08] Nynex Network Solutions, a satellite network operator headquartered in Germany, has launched a DVB-S2 network with adaptive coding and modulation based on iDirect’s Evolution product line.
According to iDirect, the network will enable Nynex to deliver bandwidth efficiency to current and prospective customers throughout the Middle East, supporting enterprise-class applications such as Voice Over IP and high-speed access to virtual private networks.
The Evolution network will utilize capacity on Eutelsat’s W6 satellite, which covers the EMEA region. Nynex plans to expand the network into Africa on the NewSkies NSS10 satellite.
Additionally, Bentley Walker has purchased an iDirect 5iF universal satellite hub as well as Evolution X3 satellite routers and line cards to launch a DVB-S2 network with adaptive coding and modulation spanning multiple satellites in the EMEA region.
Bentley Walker said it plans to migrate small businesses, large enterprises, government organizations and other customers to its iDirect network.
