[Satellite Today 10-07-08] Tesacom, Stratos Global and Addvalue Communications joined forces to deploy a 1,200-site Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) mobile satellite network to support the first round of Brazil’s municipal elections held Oct 5th.
Tesacom was selected by the Brazilian Electoral Superior Court to deploy the BGAN network at voting precincts in rural communities nationwide. The court’s selection of Tesacom represents the world’s largest single contract for the purchase of BGAN service.
As part of its integrated service offering, Tesacom said it worked to ensure that its BGAN customers utilized Stratos’ Advantage, a suite of BGAN services providing users with cost control, firewall management, full traffic information, pre-paid facilities, high security options, VPN access, messaging services and full IP range.
