Pace Going Green

By Staff Writer | August 26, 2008

[Satellite Today 08-26-08] Pace is targeting three areas of its business to make its products more environmentally friendly, the company announced Aug. 26.
Pack is “taking action to reduce our environmental impact across all aspects of our business — from products to our operations and supply chain,” Neil Gaydon, CEO of Pace, said in a statement
The hardware design of every Pace product will comply with or exceed the European Union Code of Conduct, EnergyStar and MEPS guidelines. In regions where no guidelines exist, Pace will apply the closest guidelines to these areas and work with its partners to drive compliance across all aspects of the final product, including software.
Pace also will make its packaging 100 percent recyclable and is setting a minimum standard of 50 percent of all materials used in packaging to be sourced from recycled materials.
Pace also said it aims to go beyond current legislation with its own “restricted substances” list. Pace will phase out these additional hazardous substances from all products, the company said.
