BSkyB Signs New Deal With Thus For SkyTalk Service

By Staff Writer | July 14, 2008

[Satellite Today 07-14-08] BSkyB signed a new contract with one of the U.K.’s top telcos, Thus, to continue to carry calls for BSkyB’s SkyTalk service, the satellite operator said July 14.
BSkyB signed an extension contract with Thus for the existing carrier pre-selection service supporting the SkyTalk service. Thus has been carrying calls for the Sky Talk service since 2001 and the current contract has now been extended to the end of March 2009, in order to facilitate an orderly migration to Sky’s new wholesale calls carrier.
This planned measure has been taken to safeguard the risk of service interruption for Sky Talk’s 1.1 million customers, as they are moved in managed stages between providers throughout the coming months.
