OmniGlobe Captures Contract For Rural Broadband Service

[Satellite Today  07-03-07] OmniGlobe Networks Inc. signed an agreement with the city of Kingston, Ontario, to enhance the telecommunications infrastructure in unserved areas of the region, the company announced July 1.
    The project, part of a 10 million Canadian dollar ($9.8 million) Ontario government initiative awarded to 18 rural municipalities, is designed to provide affordable, accessible and reliable broadband access for residents and businesses located in rural areas. The program is funded by the Rural Connections–Ontario Municipal Broadband Partnership Program of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs.
