iDirect, Tatanet Partnerships Targets Indian VSAT Market

[Satellite Today – 6-10-08] VT iDirect Inc. and ST Electronics Pte Ltd. formed a strategic partnership with Indian VSAT service provider Tatanet Services Ltd., to provide services in India, the companies announced June 10.
    Tatanet has set up an iDirect Series 15000 universal hub in Mumbai, India, which will enable it to expand its business across multiple developing markets that require specialized service capabilities. Tatanet, a division of Nelco Ltd., is the first commercial service provider in India to operate an iDirect network. 
    “The demand for high-end satellite broadband services is growing rapidly across commercial and government markets,” Zal Engineer, executive director of Tatanet, said in a statement. “Leveraging the technical competencies of ST Electronics and the flexibility of the iDirect platform, Tatanet can expand its portfolio of satellite services to facilitate new advanced applications that meet increasingly complex customer needs.”
