Wegener To Provide Digital Signage In Banks

[Satellite Today – 4-29-08] Wegener Corp. received a $1.2 million order for a digital signage project for the financial services industry, Wegener announced April 28.
    The order marks the launch of Wegener’s new iPump 562 enterprise media server, which supports bandwidth-saving features such as MPEG-4/h.264 video decompression, file-based workflows and DVB-S2 (digital video broadcasting-satellite-second generation) satellite demodulation. 
    "This new product will be used in many hundreds of bank lobbies to display videos, up-to-the-minute exchange rates and queue information,” Ned Mountain, president and COO of Wegener, said in a statement. “Digital signage has emerged as a growth area for us, and the new iPump 562 vastly expands our range of solutions."
